HAVE ANY QUETIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

  • TruePilot boosts productivity and efficiency by leveraging our proprietary Intelligence Engine, which can consider client data in our calculations. So not only can you answer tax questions, you can apply that knowledge to your client base to see things like how a tax change will impact your clients.

Our intelligence engine includes computer vision and tax-specific knowledge so you can consider client context like income level and then apply advanced tax concepts like the tax impact of a passthrough entity.

TruePilot is continuously updated with new tax data monthly from primary sources, and always cites any calculations or data sources . This combination of client and tax data allows us to direct the AI for advisory services in a new and novel way.

  • TruePilot can assist you by answering tax research questions, searching your clients, analyzing a specific client's data, or a combination of all 3.

You can find tutorials of TruePilot use cases here: https://www.youtube.com/@trueprep-ai

  • TruePilot reads data off of 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065 tax returns from 2022 and 2023. This data is accurately read from and stored for search and analysis. TruePilot can also read firm specific data in the form of PDFs. This might be training documents, email lists, instructions to TruePilot, or other information you want TruePilot to be aware of.

TruePilot cannot read data such as CSVs or excel sheets yet, although this capability will be built in the future.

  • You can upload data by going to the TruePilot tab, and selecting "File Uploader" in the top right. This will open a modal which you can select either "Tax Return" or "Firm Data" from and upload by dragging in PDFs.

Note: TruePilot only supports PDF types as of right now.

  • - Data Privacy: We eliminate SSNs and other sensitive information as soon as source documents are uploaded.
    - HTTPS Encryption: All communication between you device and ours servers is encrypted using HTTPS. This ensures that data transmitted over the internet cannot be intercepted or altered by unauthorized parties.
    - Encryption at Rest: When data is stored on ours servers, it's encrypted using advanced algorithms (AES-256). This means even if someone gained access to the storage system, they wouldn't be able to read the data without the decryption keys.
    - Encryption in Transit: Data moving between servers, our data store and servers is also encrypted using secure protocols like TLS (Transport Layer Security). This protects the data from being exposed or tampered with during transmission.
    - Data Access Control: Only authorized personnel and systems within your company have access to the encrypted data, and access is strictly controlled and audited.
    - Regular Security Audits: We conduct regular security checks and vulnerability assessments to find and fix any potential security gaps before they become a problem.

  • We are planning for SOC-2 compliance certification in 2025. We have started that process and are built with this level of security and compliance in mind.

  • We permanently redact and remove SSN’s on documents as they are uploaded, grabbing only the last 4 digits of the SSN for verification purposes. We do extract and store some PII such as client names which is needed to ensure documents are only linked to that specific client.
